Created and directed by cARTel Artistic Directors Negin Singh and Jack De Sena, Attraction/Logic was presented by Theatre Unleashed, another L.A.-based theatre company devoted to presenting new work. This was an incredible experience to widen both our audiences and artist pool. Attraction/Logic brought together actors, writers, painters, singers, dancers, musicians and even scientists to explore the question: "Where do Attraction and Logic intersect in our brains and bodies?" We met with them twice a week for several months to discuss both Attraction and Logic through a series of specific topics, such as virginity, commitment, and addiction. These artists then used the time for "lab" work, to create pieces with no rules or restrictions. They were encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, to take chances and make mistakes. The lab ended up producing about 60 amazing pieces, which were narrowed down to 30. The show was performed at the NoHo's Art Gallery for two crazy performances to very, very receptive audiences. Many of the performers are now a part of our ensemble.
